MusicRambler.org Frequently Asked Questions

What is MusicRambler?

MusicRambler is a mashup of Last.fm, Google Maps and Flickr. While you are listening to music on Last.FM, MusicRambler will collect images and events that are related to the current artist and present them in a clear map in your Web browser.

How does it work?

MusicRambler will connect to Last.FM to figure out what song you are currently listening to. MusicRambler then uses this information to collect artist events and to find a set of interesting images related to. After finding enough data it will publish it in a map on your web browser. Musicrambler only needs that you are hearing some music with Audioscrobbler enabled.

I can't hear any music!

MusicRambler doesn't actually play any music. You need to use the last.fm radio or to enable Audioscrobbler in your favorite music player. Just go to last.fm website to find how to do that.

I can't get the Last.fm player to work, what should I do?

You should check with Last.fm for support for their player.

Why are you showing a picture that is not related to what i'm listening?

Sometimes people tag their photos with names that doesn't really connect with the photo but is connected with some other meaning. We are working on getting better filtering at this time.

Why MusicRambler doesn't change what i'm listening in real time?

Musicrambler gets this information from last.fm which updates the entry only some seconds after the song began.

What information do you collect about me when I use MusicRambler?

We log your IP address and your last.fm user name so we can monitor how many people is using Musicrambler. We will not share this information with anybody.
